Bestie and I try to get together once a month for a meal out. We see each other in between obviously, but it’s the one night that we can gossip and talk about girl stuff without the other halves interrupting. Life has gotten in the way lately and we haven’t had a dinner in a very long time. So when things eased for both of us we set a date. Sticks ‘n Sushi has been on my radar for a while and since we both love Asian food and sushi in particular, I just knew it would be the perfect place for us.
Food: An absolutely ginormous menu and we had some trouble choosing what to order, we were lucky to have some recommendations beforehand, but there are sharing platters for those less decisive! The sushi was some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. If I had to choose a favourite – at a real push – it would be the Bling Bling rolls, although all the sushi we tried was extremely good. We only tried 1 “stick” – the pancetta wrapped scallop in herb butter and it was so tasty that we ordered more of it. I would be keen to return and try a bigger selection of the sticks on offer.
Ambience: In one word. Cool. In a few more words…great soundtrack playing in the background, leather covered tables, sushi counter to watch the chefs at work, a nice buzz of conversation and everyone having a good time.
Service: Our waitress, Sukanya, was just the cutest little thing! She read our moods and timed her stops at our table perfectly. All the staff at Sticks ‘n Sushi were friendly and looked happy to be there. A really great vibe coming from all of them.
Price: It ain’t cheap, but you get what you pay for and that is good quality, delicious food! Our total bill came to £204.07 for two people including service. We were hungry and thirsty and probably ordered more than we needed to, but the size of the bill doesn’t stop me from wanting to go back.
And finally….If you’re looking for good food in a central location, in a restaurant that is sleek and well designed, then I would say this is the place for you!
Until we eat again!
